UniWord Policy
Privacy Policy
Effective date: August 2, 2026
Multi_Software ("we," "our," or "us") built UniWord as a commercial mobile application. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect information when you use the UniWord app and related services.
UniWord is intended for users aged 13 years and older. By downloading, accessing, signing in, or using UniWord, you agree to this Privacy Policy.
1. Information We Collect
We collect only the information necessary to operate, maintain, and improve UniWord.
A. Account Information: When you choose to sign in using Google Sign-In, we may receive limited information associated with your Google account, such as name, email address, profile photo (if provided by Google), and a unique account identifier. This information is used only for account access, sync features, backup and restore, and user identification inside the app.
B. Learning Data: When you use UniWord, we may store data related to your learning experience, such as saved vocabulary items, learning progress, revision history, grammar progress, custom word lists, saved articles or stories, preferences and settings, and backup or sync data linked to your account.
C. Subscription Information: If you purchase UniWord Plus, Google Play handles payment processing. We do not collect or store your payment card details. Subscription status and entitlement information may be processed by RevenueCat and mirrored to our backend to keep your Plus access in sync across devices.
2. Information We Do Not Intentionally Collect
We do not intentionally collect passwords for your Google account, payment card information through the app, personal messages or contacts, or biometric identifiers.
Google Sign-In authentication is handled by Google and related providers.
3. Local Device Processing
Many core features of UniWord work locally on your device.
This may include vocabulary saving and review features, OCR (text recognition from images or camera), on-device ML Kit translation, and various learning tools and app settings.
We do not upload your text, images, or personal learning content to our servers for these local features.
Voice Typing / Speech-to-Text: Voice typing may use on-device or network-based speech recognition, depending on your device, operating system, installed language packs, or internet connectivity. Speech recognition services may be provided by your device manufacturer or operating system provider.
4. Permissions We Request
UniWord may request permissions only when needed for specific features.
- Camera Permission: Used to capture images for OCR features.
- Photos / Storage Permission: Used to select images from your device for OCR processing.
- Microphone Permission: Used for voice typing or speech input.
- These permissions are used only when you actively choose those features.
5. How We Use Information
We may use collected information to provide login access and account features, sync or restore learning data, manage subscription entitlements, personalize your experience, improve app features and performance, detect crashes, bugs, abuse, or technical issues, and maintain security and reliability.
6. Data Storage and Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards to protect your information.
Data linked to account features may be stored through trusted service providers such as Supabase, RevenueCat, or related infrastructure providers.
However, no method of storage or transmission is 100% secure.
7. Third-Party Services
UniWord may use third-party services such as Google Sign-In, Supabase, Google Play Billing, RevenueCat, and on-device Google ML Kit (for OCR and translation).
These providers may process data according to their own privacy policies.
8. Purchases and Subscriptions
UniWord Plus subscriptions are sold through Google Play. Payment processing, billing, and refunds are handled by Google according to Google Play policies.
We do not receive or store your full payment card details. RevenueCat helps us verify subscription status and link entitlements to your account.
Subscription status may be mirrored to our backend so Plus access stays consistent when you sign in on another device.
9. Account Deletion and Data Requests
We respect your right to control your personal information. Users can request permanent deletion of their UniWord account and associated data at any time.
How to Request Deletion: Via email, send a request to support@uniword.app from the email address associated with your account. You can also submit a request through our contact form at https://www.uniword.app/support.
Processing Time: Once we receive your request, we will verify your identity and process deletion within 24 to 48 hours.
Data Removal: Upon account deletion, your personal information (name, email, and profile photo) and learning data (saved vocabulary, progress, grammar progress, and settings) will be permanently removed from our servers. Some anonymous or aggregated data may remain for a limited period, but it will not be linked to you personally.
10. Children's Privacy
UniWord is intended for users aged 13+.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal data, please contact us.
11. International Users / GDPR
Depending on your location, you may have rights regarding your personal data, including rights to access your data, correct your data, request deletion, and restrict certain processing.
To make a request, contact support@uniword.app.
12. Website Preferences
The UniWord website (uniword.app) may store your light or dark theme preference in your browser's local storage. This is used only to remember your display preference and is not linked to your app account.
13. Links to Other Services
UniWord may contain links to third-party websites or services. We are not responsible for their content, security, or privacy practices.
14. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the Effective Date above.
Your continued use of UniWord after updates become effective means you accept the revised policy.
